I See The Seat

(picture) I see The seat Is empty   Facing water, Earth, sun Seeing Reflection   I hear More For \ I want Solitude To Sound   I found I lost My loved one.   Why aren’t The elements Meant to defend?   My defenses Were Repression, Sublimation, Projection –   Reaction Formation Evolves as I attempt to Make New Turning the pain Into positive gain Losing impulse As my heart Pulses Pushing For what’s right – The sunlight, The cleansing water, The ground I’ve found Have rooted me To Reality.   Can beauty Arise? I disguise My pain In crowds Yet in solitude   The louds leave. I believe Again   When I see The Seat Isn’t empty.   Annie 7-1-01

Horse Racing

(picture) Horse Racing   Elegantly she runs; "a natural" having fun at racing. Her pacing is perfect And she knows She was meant to be The Best.   Protectively we take care of her Brushing her hair Feeding her Loving her Nurturing and knowing She's in command.   I put my hand out to give her grain And she responds over and over again And looks on. She knows   Soon she will face Another race And will run with The Best Yet it is a test For her endurance. She will not be overtaken By them Because she's a pro; She will go Because she can.   And she will not think of them Only herself--her goals As she is mounted by the jockey Who caresses her Who encourages her With her  blinders on She finds only one reason to go on And that is   To Be.   Annie 5-17-98

Giving Sight

(picture) Giving Sight   Try living without good sight Light blinds Shadows blend You can’t see the end and you may even fall as you walk down each stair.   Sometimes you stare Knowing your eyes are struggling to cope Yet your hope brings Ones who grasp your grief and take it from you and give you belief in them, for they know And they show you Who is important now – You. Yes, you, and they fix it.   You put your new glasses on and see – so clearly knowing nothing can stop you now For Now is the best place to be.   Yes, you gave me sight Such a precious gift which nothing can replace You brought me out of a place of hopelessness and despair Because you cared for my eyes – my Gates to Anything, Anyone Who I see.   You did this for me And actually all who Are lucky enough to see you.   Your work is beyond just tries. You target the problem and fix it, I surely realize.   And I truly thank you From the bottom of my heart And The depth of my eyes. ...

Curing Restlessness

(Picture) Curing Restlessness……     There are no roots for me As I carry on I feel no real Roots.   So I create For them My own vision hoping it takes Root.   As I look on Beyond Today, I see Sunrise Which roots Warmth.   The warmth of friends I see For their eyes shine Brightly Into Me. Taking My feeling of Limbo Making Sound.   I found Peace now Looking And hoping for Better Brighter Days.   And warm days sound Singing Today knowing All is Okay Now.   For the skies shine Warming My heart and mind Beyond What I See. Air

(Picture) A ir   I take it all in and just hold it for a while— my days go by and as I try—to smile   I begin to suffocate I hate Holding it all in Like it was My sin   But it wasn’t.   It wasn’t mine. And I begin to Exhale; I see a sign— It says I didn’t fail,   I didn’t fail, I evolved— I revolved, I absolved, I dissolved.   I dissolved all I took in And I begin again   But this time I’ll breath what I desire Not the pollution; not the fire—   Not others’ sins This Time   I win Breathing Air That is mine.   Annie 3/24/97
